Well, I found someone who'd posted my artwork here on DeviantArt. Without my permission. Not even credited.
This is not amusing. This is not flattery. This is art theft. And it pisses me off.
Unfortunately this is not the first time, nor will it be the last time that my artwork has been "reappropriated" by others. Both here on DeviantArt and Livejournal (and beyond) people decide that because I'm relatively popular, I should be flattered that they want to take my art and edit it, copy it, or just plain steal it.
I've seen it all- people tracing my artwork (someone even traced a drawing of mine and changed it by having the character wanking off), turning my art into icons without my permission, and just plain outright stealing it.
Now there are 3-4 people who have my permission to turn my art into icons on livejournal, as long as I am credited. I fully know the chibi idea isn't just mine. Really, I've contributed to the copies and continuation with the annual Chibi contest.
But there is a line, and it should be fairly obvious where it is AND THAT YOU SHOULDN'T CROSS IT.
It's situations like this that make me consider doing as ~
swankkat did and remove parts of my gallery. but that's not my style. Instead, I'm living up to the "Bitch" term people keep using when describing me, and scream my fucking lungs off.
STOP USING OTHER PEOPLE'S ARTWORK WITHOUT PERMISSION. DON'T UPLOAD THINGS TO DEVIANTART THAT CONTAIN STUFF YOU DIDN'T MAKE, LIKE OTHER FANARTIST'S DRAWINGS, OR OFFICIAL PICTURES, OR SCREENCAPS. IT'S A VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHT, AND THE TERMS OF SERVICE OF DEVIANTART. EXPECT ME TO HELP BAN YOUR ASS IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES YOU EFFING AGREED TO WHEN YOU JOINED.
Look, I know I don't own Doctor Who, or Discworld, or Whatever Else I've drawn fanart for. But I do own the rights to the use of my own artwork, and the hours I put into it. So yeah, I am going to smack you through the internet if you decide to violate that.

Well, I'm sorry that they're doing this...hopefully they get banned from DA or a frozen turkey drops on them or something...
All joking aside, that's just not right. I have no idea how people think they can do something like that and think they'll get away with it...especially when its already a very popular artist or piece of art!

So glad my stuffs not good enough, or popular enough to attract any attention!
But I did get bitched at because I had a rant with someone in my class who can't draw to save their lives, but took my schoolbooks to trace my art out of it!
