Victorian stroll by JesIdres Victorian stroll by JesIdres
Do not leave me alone with a Victorian fashion book. Rose suffers as a result.

The dress from Harper Bazaar, 1894.

I love the victorian look. Ten better be careful or he'll run into Eight. I am of the belief Eight would fall head over heels for her too.

I wish this was in full-colour but still, it's simply elegant. Take a peek at my art when you can. (JL)

This is a nice picture, but where did you find this Harper Bazzar magazine? I need some clothing reference for that era, but I can't find any.

Really a lovely dress, and the detail on the top gives a nice contrast to the Doctor's outfit.

Skirt looks a bit forgotten though.

Well, that's the thing- it was completely plain in the original Harper Bazaar ad. It was weird...but easier for me.

Yes, but I don't think that dress involved a very painful corset....

all victorian dress inc=volved a corset, if you were female! btw, while we are on the subject of that episode how do you reckon that teh doctor got away with HIS attire?!

Actually, there was a ten to fifteen years gap in the late 1800s where the corset fell out of favor general favor due to the concerns of tight-lacing corsets. but by the late 1880s they came back in style to compliment the bustle curve desired. Heh, but yeah, she probably was wearing a corset in both, but this design's a bit more extreme. Ow!

The same way Nine did before- he just does...actually this outfit is more historyically acceptable than 9's, so I don't worry about too much. I think he doesn't either.
