Discworld again! After reading Jingo and laughing for several minutes at this scenario, I had to draw the scene Carrot was alluding to:
'Mr. Wazir sells books on Widdy street, 'said Carrot. 'Only I asked him for some books on Klatch, you see, and one of the ones he gave me was 'The Perfumed Allotment, ot, The Garden of Delights'. And I didn't mind because the Klatchians invented gardens, sir, so I thought it might be a very useful cultural insight. Get inside the Klatchian mind, as it were. Only it, er, it... er... well it wasn't about gardening... er...' He started to blush. 'Yes yes, all right, bring it back of you like, 'said Mr. Wazir, looking a little derailed. 'I just thought you ought to know in case you hadn't... in case you sold.. well... it could shock the impressionable, you know, a book like that...' 'Yes fine-' 'Corporal Angua was so shocked she couldn't stop laughing,' Carrot went on.
I need to find Mr. Pratchett and complain- I can't read on the T anymore, the giggling causes the other passengers to look at me funny.
I particularly like Angua's expression here; I redrew it about 8 times to get it right. Carrot's face had to be redraw with my tablet in the computer when I realized it didn't have the right 'innocently confused' look that I figure Carrot wears 60 percent of the time.
I had originally wanted to draw the scene out of the Fifth Elephant with Carrot biting a lead wolf, but I gave up before I began.
Carrot and Angua are PTerry's. I only wished I owned them.
Could you draw the scence of Carrot dressing as "Mr Spuddy Face" alias "Herr Kartoffel", too?
"Angua, are you trying to tell me something?"
"Depends if you can take the hint, Luv!"
Those two are the best paring, I really adore them.
Great picture! It's been awhile since I've read that book, but now I'm going to be giggling all day remembering that scene
