Feet of Clay- End of the Line by JesIdres Feet of Clay- End of the Line by JesIdres
So, this has been taking up way too much of my time for the past two weeks. My friend finished Feet of Clay, and it brought back my love of the book, as well as a few questions raised by the end of the book. Carrot defies a direct order (go figure) and gets shot in the hand by a silver bolt. What I never understood is that Carrot knew it was silver before Angua touched it- leading to my first questions about Carrot's species status (and later figured I was just paranoid).

Trying to make the golem king real was just impossible. I should probably have texturized him better, but this is a good image start.

This just spun out of control, but it got me drawing Discworld again. So it's got that going for it.

Ehn. 20+hours, Photoshop+Wacom.

Carrot Ironfoundersson, Angua Von Uberwald, King of Golems, Feet of Clay, Discworld (c) PTerry

*bows at the utter glory*

This is just magnificent. Fabulous. A bonus is that it's a scene from one of my favourite books.

Again, I greatly admire this, and in general, you. :glomp:

Very nicely done- I never imagined the Golem King to look like that, but it makes sense now I think about it.

Pterry mentions a crown and royal clothes. I originally thought he was like the otheres but the more I thought about it...

Yeah, that image of him makes much more sense in my mind than the one I used to have.

By the way, I love the detail on the legs - only just noticed it!

Well, Carrot was raised a dwarf, wasn't he? He can probably identify refined and raw metals from a glance- at least the more common ones.

Plus, it's silver, which is third-most-revered metal.

It's EMBEDDED in his HAND! But you have a point, possibly....

And in a mine, it's embedded in the wall- besides, ones powers of recognition and positive identification often get temporarily sharper after one is injured, especially if someone has been trained to identify that thing from practically BIRTH.
